History came to life at Brennemann!
On Saturday, March 22nd, local resident, Scott Vermillion held a presentation on the history of Buena Park in Brennemann Elementary School’s gymnasium titled “Up Yonder in Buena Park: a Journey through the Remarkable History of Chicago’s Buena Park Neighborhood.”

With an overwhelming turnout of 200 people—including a Brennemann alum from the class of ’72 who drove in from Western Springs—Brennemann was thrilled to open their doors for this special event. The event was hosted by our local Chicago Public Library and Mark Kaplan, and when registrations started to surge, they turned to our school in order to have the space to host a larger audience.
It was an amazing day of storytelling, community, and connection. Friends of Brennemann was honored to be part of it, and our FOB president, Sue Levine-Kelley, had the pleasure of welcoming the crowd to Brennemann.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
