A Lounge That Reflects the Heart of the School

When we first met Brennemann’s new administration six years ago, one of their top priorities was clear: attracting and retaining great teachers. Since then, teacher retention has dramatically improved—thanks in part to a growing culture of support and appreciation. That’s why the very first request they made of Friends of Brennemann was to help transform the school’s outdated teacher lounge into a space that reflects that culture—a warm, inviting place where educators can relax, recharge, lesson plan, and connect with one another.

Where we started.

We took that request to heart. Over the past year, FOB has raised over $40,000 in 2024 to bring this vision to life—and the transformation is now complete! The lounge now features new floors, modern lighting, custom cabinetry (thank you, Amberleaf Cabinetry!), a working sink (which didn’t exist before!), and an air conditioner—an essential upgrade in a space that had no temperature control. We’ve added durable, comfortable furniture, and the final upholstery touches are on the way.

A Heartfelt Thank You

This renovation wouldn’t have been possible without two amazing partners: Leasing & Management Company, who helped project-manage and sourced vendors, and MDT Architects, a local architecture firm that donated their time and talent to design the space. This is a true community collaboration, and we’re thrilled to give our incredible teachers a space they truly deserve.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to our partners and our donors for helping to make this vision come to life!
